WHAT IS THE FLORIDA ROOM ?

The mission of THE FLORIDA ROOM is to maximize the impact of documentary films to instigate social change; to collaborate in the development of production in the arts, and to aid in the development of existing venues for artists to present their work in the Greater Miami area.

We are achieving this goal by creating events that facilitate the collaboration of local institutions and organizations without conflicts of interest and by publicizing these collaborations on national and international media. We also work with local arts organizations to curate, program and exhibit the work of local artists.

WHAT IS THE FLORIDA ROOM DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL?

The Florida Room Documentary Film Festival is just one of a series of events created by THE FLORIDA ROOM throughout the year. It is our signature event.

The purpose of THE FLORIDA ROOM DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL is to provide the Miami and Miami Beach community with inspirational, working examples of how individuals are able to transform and unite their communities through the arts. THE FLORIDA ROOM DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL celebrates award-winning filmmakers that have taken matters into their own hands and are changing the way America thinks, one community at a time. Our films include Academy Award™ and Emmy™ nominees and winners. All of our films have been Miami theatrical premiers.
